Learn AI in Lebanon: Courses, Degrees, Bootcamps and 1:1 AI Mentoring for Lebanese Learners

There are four ways to learn AI in Lebanon (the country): free self-study and national programs, university degrees, bootcamps, and 1:1 mentoring. Start free. Pay for a degree if you want to build AI systems for a living. Pay for a bootcamp if you want structured technical skills fast. Pay for a mentor if you want AI working inside your own job or business within weeks.

The honest rule: a course teaches you AI. Only application makes you useful with it. Whatever route you choose, end it with something you built.

Who should start with free courses and national programs?

Everyone. Free options cost you nothing but time and tell you quickly whether you want to go deeper.

• One Million Lebanese AI Experts. The UAE and Lebanon launched this initiative on 25 September 2026 to give one million people in Lebanon practical skills in generative AI and prompt engineering, open to all ages and backgrounds (UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs). As of 29 October 2026 the official announcements we reviewed did not publish a registration process. Context on the initiative: AI in Lebanon.
• Ministry training. Lebanon's technology and AI ministry runs a training program through universities, NGOs and municipalities, with a certificate at the end of each course (Arab News).
• Elements of AI. A series of free online courses from the University of Helsinki and MinnaLearn that you can complete at your own pace (elementsofai.com).

Limit: free courses teach the general case. They will not tell you which of your own tasks to automate first.

Is a university AI degree in Lebanon worth it?

Yes, if you want to build AI systems, do research or work as an AI engineer. No, if you want to use AI in your current job; a degree is too slow and too expensive for that.

Two verified options:

• Lebanese American University (LAU): online MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence. 30 credit hours, fully online and asynchronous, about two years (an 18-month accelerated option exists), taught in English, aimed at working professionals. No prior AI experience is required; a bachelor's degree is (LAU Online).
• Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ): Master in Artificial Intelligence at the School of Engineering of Beirut (ESIB). A professional master's covering machine learning, deep learning, NLP and generative AI, with an internship and thesis. Entry requires a bachelor's in computer and communications engineering, computer science or telecommunications, or an equivalent (USJ catalogue).

When does an AI bootcamp make sense?

When you want job-ready technical skills in months, not years. One provider active in Lebanon is ZAKA, an AI education company whose programs run from beginner foundations to practitioner bootcamps (including an AI BootCamp and an Agentic AI Bootcamp) to career tracks in machine learning, data science, data analytics and data engineering (zaka.ai). ZAKA has run AI training in Lebanon with the Hariri Foundation for 50 university students (Hariri Foundation), and Minister Kamal Shehadi announced that 2,500 residents took part in a ZAKA AI training program (The National).

Fits: career changers ready to commit weekly hours and learn some code. Does not fit: a business owner who needs results this month.

What is 1:1 AI mentoring, and who is it for?

1:1 AI mentoring is a private session where an expert teaches you AI on your own work, so you leave with something built, not just notes. Liwaa Beaini, founder of Torch99 and a Lebanese AI strategist and product builder (who he is), offers 1:1 AI mentoring through the Tomohi mentoring app.
